Optimising your website for AI searches

Optimising your website for AI SearchesMost of the conversations regard AI and website optimisation are concerned with utilising AI to help companies optimise websites. So they talk about Google’s RankBrain and how Google are utilising AI to analyses keywords against searches to let Google know what type of end results a web user is looking for.

However, with the growing use of AI within the home and businesses in the form of smart speakers, end user are increasing utilising it to search for contents/information and not just control devices. So this begs the question, do companies now need to optimise their websites so that devices such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomePod can find them easier?

To answer this, we first need to understand how Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Microsoft’s Cortana and Apple Siri search for contents. Now admittedly all these virtual assistants still have some way to go in terms of being able to respond correctly to every question, however all assistants are getting better over time.

Google Assistant simply utilise its existing Google search algorithm in it’s virtual assistant. And Apple Siri also uses Google. However Amazon Alexa is by far the market leader in smart speakers and currently runs on Bing. So while the world has busily been optimising their web pages for Google Searches, it might now be time to start turning your attention to Bing.
